Screen Nova Scotia has announced the nominees for a number of awards that will be handed out at Gala next month.
The film commission and industry association says the awards are designed to recognize and celebrate the incredible talent, creativity, and passion that are the trademarks of Nova Scotia’s film, television and animation industry.
“Screen Nova Scotia is proud to honour and recognize this year’s talented nominees, across all award categories,” said Laura Mackenzie, Executive Director, Screen Nova Scotia. “The content that’s being created in Nova Scotia is increasingly reflective of the shift around the world towards giving visibility to historically marginalized voices, and it’s a glorious thing to watch. We are punching well above our weight in talent, but that’s always been the case. There’s just so much for our community to celebrate this year – we salute you!”
New this year is an award for Outstanding Achievement in Editing and the addition of a new category for unscripted television series, which has been sponsored by the Directors Guild of Canada.
“The Directors Guild of Canada is thrilled to be supporting the Screen Nova Scotia Awards Gala by sponsoring the awards for Best Documentary Film and Best Unscripted Television Series,” said Hans Engel, Directors Guild of Canada, National Directors Division. “We’d like to congratulate all the award nominees for the outstanding work you are doing.”
