Wentworth man facing Attempted Murder charges after a series of incidents

A Wentworth, Nova Scotia, man faces several charges, including Attempted Murder, after being arrested in New Brunswick on Thursday.

Police were called to a residence in Wentworth on March 21st after an altercation between 54-year-old Leland Lynds and another man. Lynds had already left the scene before police arrived, and a short time later, investigators asked the public for help in finding him. 6 days later, the court issued a warrant for Lynds arrest on charges of Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order.

On Tuesday, RCMP in Cumberland County were called to a home in Middleboro where police allege Lynds, armed with a firearm, threatened to kill another man. The man sped off, but Lynds chased him in a second vehicle. Police spotted the vehicle on Highway 4 in Wentworth and tried to stop it, but the driver refused. Officers chased after the suspect but called off their pursuit due to high speeds, and he managed to escape.

Thursday, New Brunswick RCMP officers arrested Lynds at a motel in Sussex, NB, and he has been returned to the custody of Nova Scotia RCMP.
