Man charged with break and enter at NSLC in Dartmouth

By CityNews Halifax Staff

A man has been charged in connection to a break and enter that took place at an NSLC last week.

Last Thursday, at roughly 11:15 p.m., police responded to a break and enter at the NSLC on Braemar Drive.

Police say a man broke a window, stole merchandise and fled the area in a vehicle.

Then during the early morning hours of Friday, officers found the suspect’s vehicle at a gas station on Waverly Road.

The vehicle was reported stolen from a home in Dartmouth the previous week.

Police say they arrested the driver and the passenger without incident. The passenger was released without charges.

Steven James Maloney, 30, was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Monday to face charges of break and enter, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failure to comply with conditions of a release order.
