Man charged with attempted murder after downtown Halifax stabbing, police say

A man is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after a stabbing in downtown Halifax over the weekend.

According to Halifax Regional Police, officers were called to Barrington St. around 4 a.m. Sunday to reports of a stabbing. Two men were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, and a suspect was arrested at the scene.

HRP said the suspect had approached a group of men he didn’t know and stabbed two men.

Austin Blake, 24, is now facing charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault. He was expected to be in court on Tuesday.
