Favreau resigns as Head Coach of the Halifax Mooseheads

The Silvain Favreau era has come to an end with the Halifax Mooseheads. The Mooseheads announced on Monday that the bench boss resigned as the club’s head coach, citing personal reasons for his departure.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire organization. I am grateful for the support, collaboration and camaraderie I have experienced throughout my tenure with the Mooseheads,” Favreau said.

Favreau joined Halifax in 2017 as an Assistant Coach and compiled a 88-48 record in 136 games for the last two seasons as Head Coach. Favreau coached the Mooseheads to a Maritimes Division title in 2022-23 and a berth in the QMJHL’s Gilles Courteau Trophy Finals with the second-best record in franchise history at 50-11-4-3.

In a media release Monday afternoon, the Mooseheads said that the search for a new Head Coach would begin immediately.
