Many Nova Scotians were getting tired of the dreary, wet weather that took hold of the province over the past few weeks – and mother nature has decided to toss things up again.
A heat warning has been issued for the Halifax area and all of mainland Nova Scotia, calling for hot and humid weather for the next few days.
The national forecaster says temperatures will hover around or just below the 30 C mark on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. With the humidity added on, it’s expected to feel closer to 38 C today and tomorrow, and around 35 C on Saturday.
Wet and cloudy weather is forecast to return starting on Sunday.
People are being reminded that this kind of heat can impact everyone. It’s recommended people limit outdoor activities to the coolest parts of the day and drink lots of water as there is an increased risk for heat-related illnesses.
And because some still need the reminder, Environment Canada says you should never leave people or pets in a parked vehicle.
