Lower Sackville man faces charges after altercation with knife

A 53-year-old man is facing charges in connection to an incident at a Lower Sackville home.

On July 19, Halifax District RCMP were conducting a wellbeing check on a man at a home on Emily Crt. in Lower Sackville.

During the check, attending RCMP officers say an altercation ensued in which the man pointed a knife at a woman known to him.

Mounties say the woman exited the home, uninjured, and the man proceeded to barricade himself in the bedroom.

RCMP officers, with the assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team and an RCMP Crisis Negotiation Team, safely arrested the suspect.

Christopher Martin Miners has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and obstructing a peace officer.
