Thousands without power as thunderstorm rolls through Halifax
Thousands in Nova Scotia were still without power on Saturday after a powerful storm swept through the area.
As of 1 p.m. Saturday, more than 10,000 customers province-wide were still without power, according to Nova Scotia Power’s outage map.
Thousands were impacted in the Bedford and Sackville areas. Restoration was scheduled to happen by Saturday evening.

Nova Scotia Power opened its emergency operation centre to respond to the storm. The utility said it may take a while to restore all power because of road conditions after flash flooding slammed the Halifax area.
At the peak of the outages, Nova Scotia Power said more than 70,000 customers were in the dark.
