Weekend in Halifax dampened by rainfall warning
Halifax residents may need an umbrella if you’re taking in one of the many events happening in the city this weekend.
A rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada for Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) as well as much of the province, calling for between 40 millimetres (mm) and 70 mm of rain by Sunday night.
According to weather specialist Denise Andreacchi, the rain is expected to begin around noon today and continue throughout the weekend.

“There are going to be some breaks today and tomorrow,” she says. “But we’re not going to really see things quiet down until next week.”
She adds that we could see some heavy downpours at times, with higher amounts of rain falling in some local areas.
The disappointing news comes as HRM is set to see a weekend complete with the conclusion of the North American Indigenous Games, Pride and Nova MultiFest in Dartmouth.
HRM is expecting pockets of heavy rainfall today until Sunday. Lightening, which can potentially be dangerous, is also in the forecast. Here are some tips to keep you and your property safe: pic.twitter.com/srfnRsdY4x
