Weather statement calls for rain, thunderstorms into Friday morning

There’s more rain in the forecast for Nova Scotia — but it’s not expected to come close to the historic amounts seen last weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement across the province, calling for rain and thunderstorms on Thursday evening and into Friday morning.

The statement says 20 millimetres (mm) to 40 mm of rain is expected but higher amounts will fall in thunderstorms.

The system is expected to move into southwestern Nova Scotia Thursday evening and cross east across the province. Rain will taper off on Friday morning.
