Two killed in crash in West Hants

A crash in Windsor Forks has claimed two lives.

The RCMP said the crash happened Thursday night around 11 p.m. on Hwy. 14. A Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Monte Carlo apparently collided head-on.

Two passengers in the Monte Carlo, both aged 20, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another 22-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the driver, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries as well after allegedly showing signs of impairment. The man was released without charges pending a blood-sample analysis.

The two people in the F-150 were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The roadway was closed to traffic but has since reopened as police continue their investigation.
