Applications open for increased senior care grant

Nova Scotian seniors can start applying to the annual seniors care grant program on Friday.
That grant has gone up by $250 to $750 this year, and includes home heating now as an eligible service.
To qualify you have to be 65 or older by Mar. 31 of next year, rent or own your home and have a household income of $37,500 or less.
Minister Barbara Adams says the increased grant will help seniors have more flexibility to use the money where it’s needed.
