Two arrested after allegedly driving stolen vehicle through RCMP checkpoint

Two men are facing long lists of charges after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop in Middle Sackville yesterday.

The Halifax RCMP said officers were at a check point on Margeson Dr., on the lookout for impaired drivers around 11:15 p.m. when a Kia refused to stop for officers.

Those officers used a spike belt to stop the vehicle at the exit of the Indigo Shores subdivision.

The two people in the vehicle took off on foot, according to police. The passenger was arrested nearby, and the driver was arrested this morning. Both are accused of several crimes, including stealing the vehicle they were in.

Tyrel Anthony Comeau, 27, and Dustin Kempton Crowell, 30, are facing several charges and were expected to be in court on Tuesday.
