Mooseheads still winless after a lopsided loss on the road in Charlottetown
The Halifax Mooseheads, looking to avenge their opening night loss to Charlottetown, dug themselves a deep hole in the second game of their season-opening home-and-home Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) series Saturday night.
The Islanders tallied four times in the first period, opening the scoring at the 7:01 mark when Owen Conrad beat Moose goalie Jack Milner to make the score 1-0.
The Islanders added a second marker just over two minutes later when Alexis Michaud scored on a penalty shot. Then, just before the 17:00 mark, the Islanders added a third goal when Michaud notched his second goal of the period, and Charlottetown’s Lucas Romeo added a 4th goal with just 59 seconds left in the 1st.

The Moose got onto the scoreboard in the second period with Logan Crosby beating Islander goaltender Aksels Ozols at 18:43 with Dominic MacKenzie and David Moravec adding assists.
Charlottetown regained its 4-goal lead early in the 3rd period when Lucas Romeo scored his second of the game just 2:20 in the final frame. The home side then made it 6-1 at 15:11 when Michael Horth scored his 3rd on the young season.
The Mooseheads have some time to regroup as they are not scheduled to play until next Saturday at 7:00 p.m. when they hit the road to face the Moncton Wildcats.
