The Halifax Mooseheads picked up their first win of the regular season, defeating the Moncton Wildcats 3-1 on Saturday.
Lou Lévesque put the Mooseheads on the board early with his first goal of the regular season.
After a scoreless second period, Reece Peitzsche netted the Herd’s first power play goal of the season to give them a 2-0 lead.
Caleb Desnoyers answered back for the Wildcats to make to bring them back within one.
But an empty netter from Mathieu Cataford helped secure the Herd’s first win of the season, while handing Moncton their first loss.
The Mooseheads will make their way to Bathurst on Sunday to take on the Titan.
