Podcast: The Todd Veinotte Show October 3rd, 2023

Hour 1: Dr. Colin Audain, president of Doctors Nova Scotia, discusses how the Dalhousie Medical School has started the massive job of lengthening its residency program for family physicians and is trying to do so without interrupting the delivery of new doctors to the province’s strained medical system. Josh Powell’s wife works at a school in HRM. He sent photos of the destruction that takes place in our schools (everything from lobsters in the toilet to destroyed lights). He says administrators cannot discipline students, and there needs to be communication between parents and administrators about the current issues. Scott Clements plans to open a new radio station to serve Lunenburg, and the radio license might be the last in years as Ottawa renews broadcasting rules.  As the minimum wage in Nova Scotia increased to $15.00 per hour, Duncan Robertson, Nova Scotia policy analyst for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business are calling for more predictable and fair system that better supports low-income workers in the long run.
