High-risk offender living in Halifax area

Police are advising the public of a high-risk offender living in the Halifax region.

According to HRP, 49-year-old Gamon Jay Leacock was released from a correctional facility after completed a sentence for nine counts of robbery, two counts of sexual assault with a weapon, two counts of forcible confinement, two counts of administer a noxious thing, six counts of uttering threats, criminal harassment, escape lawful custody, two counts of assault, assault a peace officer with weapon, theft under $5000, fail to comply, fail to stop at a motor vehicle accident, and intimidation of justice participant.

Police says the information is intended to alert the public to Leacock’s presence in the community, and not to encourage any vigilante activity.
