Two hurt after Sunday morning Gottingen Street shooting

By CityNews Halifax staff

Regional police are looking for suspects after two people were sent to hospital in an early Sunday morning shooting.

Officers on patrol were flagged down around 12:25 a.m. in the 2000 block of Gottingen Street after someone in the area heard shots fired.

Shortly after, officers found a man who had been shot and learned that a second person was taken from the scene to hospital. Both shooting victims are believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the suspects fled the scene in a black GMC SUV.

Officers remained on the scene Sunday morning, and while their investigation remains in its early stage, Police do not believe this to have been a random incident.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or using the P3 Tips app.
