A Halifax man is facing charges, accused of running a scam targeting seniors in the city.
Charles Gillen, 23, is facing charges including five counts of fraud over $5,000 and five counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Gillen is alleged to have been involved in a scam that aimed to convince seniors they needed to send money to bail a loved one out of jail.
The charges, police say, are related to five incidents.
Regional police is asking people to remain vigilant, saying police would never make that type of call and that people should always be suspicious of emails or calls asking for money.
