One man dead after weekend crash in Berwick

A 33-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Berwick over the weekend.

King’s District RCMP say a Volkswagen Rabbit struck three power poles along Hwy. 1 before leaving the road Sturday night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after officers determined he had been thrown from the vehicle.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene of the crash and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 1, near the intersection of Windermere Rd., was closed for several hours but it has since reopened.
