Man faces cluster of drug and child pornography charges after search of home in Yarmouth

A man is facing child pornography and drug-related charges following a search of a home in Yarmouth.

On Dec. 5, Yarmouth Town RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Southwest Traffic Services and RCMP Police Dog Services searched a residence on Main St. in Yarmouth as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Mounties say seized a quantity of cocaine, evidence of child pornography, electronic devices, counterfeit bills, and firearms.

Officers arrested a 50-year-old man in relation to the seizure.

Lawrence Joseph Woods appeared in court yesterday and has been remanded until a scheduled court appearance on Dec. 11 where he will face several charges including possession of child pornography, possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession of counterfeit money and other charges.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
