Thousands of Nova Scotians are still in the dark Tuesday morning as a powerful storm brought with it very strong winds.

Environment Canada issued a wind warning for all of Nova Scotia, calling for wind gusts up to 100 km/h.

As of 9 a.m., more than 23,000 Nova Scotia Power customers were without power after topping 60,000 outages Monday evening.

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education posting to social media Tuesday morning that two of it’s schools would be closed for the day due to a lack of power.

Elsewhere, schools with the Colchester County Regional Centre for Education delayed opening by 2 hours due to power outages.
