Overnight winter parking ban begins Friday in Halifax

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Halifax Regional Municipality is reminding residents the overnight winter parking ban will go into effect, starting tomorrow.

During weather events requiring snow removal, the ban will be enacted requiring vehicles moved off streets from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Overnight winter parking bans will be announced through public service announcements, social media and on the municipality’s website.

Residents signed up for hfxALERT will also receive notifications for all overnight winter parking bans.

A reminder as well that regardless of the status of the overnight parking ban, vehicles can be ticketed or towed if they interfere with snow clearing operations on both roads and sidewalks.

The ban is in effect from Dec. 15, 2023 through March 31, 2024.
