Port authority CEO won’t stay on after term expires this year

The Halifax Port Authority and its president have come to a ‘mutual decision’ that Captain Allan Gray’s tenure will end when his five-year term expires in late 2024.

In a statement, Gray, who joined the port as president and CEO in 2019, said he will be returning to Australia with his family, calling it a “difficult but necessary personal decision”.

“I am committed to fulfilling my mandate and will do everything to ensure a smooth transition,” Gray said. “I am so grateful for the support of the team, our partners and the community.”

The board said it is beginning the process of leadership transition and expects to complete the process by the time Gray’s time with the port ends.
