Mooseheads end home losing streak with 3-2 over Chicoutimi

By CityNews Halifax Staff

The Halifax Mooseheads ended their home losing streak, hanging on to defeat Chicoutimi Saguenéens 3-2 on Saturday.

The Sags opened up the scoring as Maxim Massé found the back of Halifax’s net near the midway point of the first period.

Mathieu Cataford put the Herd on the board in the second period to tie things up but Nathan Lecompte answered back in less than a minute to restore Chicoutimi’s lead.

Lou-Félix Denis gave Halifax their first lead of the game late in the third period and that would be the game-winner, as the Herd managed to hang on to defeat the Sags 3-2.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Cape Breton on Sunday to take on the Eagles.
