Halifax’s Ben Proudfoot lands Academy Award nomination
There will be some Nova Scotia content in this year’s Academy Awards.
The 2024 Oscar Nominations were announced this morning, and Nova Scotia’s Ben Proudfoot heard his name called in the Best Short Documentary Category for his work co-directing “The Last Repair Shop”.
This is not Proudfoot’s first go-around with Oscar. The Halifax-based filmmaker won an Academy Award in 2021 for the documentary short subject category for The Queen of Basketball.
