Halifax police charge two men with firearms offences

Regional police have charged two men in connection to a firearms investigation and search in Halifax on Tuesday.

Police say at roughly 10:10 p.m., officers found two men, who were wanted for outstanding warrants, at a hotel on Kearney Lake Road.

HRP found a loaded firearm and ammunition during a search of the room they were staying in.

Jeremy William Coleman, 31 and Steven Andrew Coleman, 35, are scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Possession of a firearm or prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm  
  • Possession of a firearm without a license or certificate   
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm    
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace  
  • Storing a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations    
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm         
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a court order (x4)

Steven is also facing one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
