A few minutes later, Lou Lévesque tied things up for the Mooseheads with his 10th goal of the regular season.

Markus Vidicek followed up to help give Halifax their first lead of the game on a power play.

Lou-Félix Denis extended their lead to make it 3-1 heading into the second period.

Cape Breton’s Jacob Newcombe brought the Eagles within one early in the second period but Mathieu Cataford quickly answered back to restore the Herd’s two goal lead.

The Eagles managed to bring it within one once again as Brayden Schmitt snuck one passed Mathis Rousseau.

Lucas Romeo netted a goal to force overtime where Cam Squires scored the game winner early to give Cape Breton the 5-4 victory.

The Mooseheads begin a three game Quebec road trip on Thursday when they take on the Victoriaville Tigres.
