Speed limits dropping on sections of the Bedford Highway

The speed limit is dropping from 60 km/h to 50 km/h on two sections of the Bedford Highway.

That announcement came down from the Halifax Regional Municipality on Monday afternoon.

The reduced speed zones include the existing 60 km/h zones between Southgate Dr. and Tremont Dr., and from Sherbrooke Dr. to the Windsor St. Exchange.

“This change is a result of an assessment of the corridor, related to changes in conditions and activities along the roadway,” the municipality said in a news release.

It said updated signage will be posted this week.
