RCMP calling death in Antigonish County ‘suspicious’

RCMP are investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Paq’tnkek First Nation in Antigonish County.

According to a news release, RCMP officers were called to the area around 3 a.m. on Sunday after reports of a sudden death at a home on Petow Loop Extension.

Mounties determined the death of the 40-year-old man was suspicious, and a 27-year-old man, who was known to the victim, was arrested.

Investigators do not believe it was a random act and they say there is no risk to the public.

The Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit is now investigating the case.
