The Halifax Mooseheads picked up a dominant 7-0 shut out win against the Charlottetown Islanders on Saturday.

Dylan MacKinnon opened up the scoring with his second goal of the regular season to help give Halifax a 1-0 lead.

The Mooseheads kept that momentum going as Peter Reynolds found the back of Charlottetown’s net while Lou Lévesque followed up minutes later to make it 3-0 Mooseheads.

Mathieu Cataford made it 4-0 early in the second period with his 33rd goal of the regular season while Liam Welsh tacked on another point early in the third.

It didn’t stop there as Jake Furlong and Jan Sprynar extended the Herd’s lead to make it a 7-0 final.

Mathis Rousseau picked up his fifth shut out of the regular season, stopping all 13 shots that came his way.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Cape Breton to take on the Eagles next Friday.
