By CityNews Halifax Staff

Regional police continue to investigate the murder of Joseph Beals three years after his death.

On Feb. 20, 2021, police responded to reports of a single vehicle crash into a utility pole at the intersection of Mount Edward Road and Cranberry Crescent in Dartmouth.

Police say Beals was the driver and he suffered gun shot wounds, adding he was taken to hospital where he later died.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and ruled the death a homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve his murder and are asking anyone with information to contact HRP or Crime Stoppers.

Police say this case is part of the Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes.
