Halifax to pull buses, ferries Saturday afternoon with freeze in forecast

A heads up for people who use Halifax Transit, as you’ll likely need to make other plans on Saturday afternoon.

The municipality has announced it plans to suspend all Halifax Transit service, including buses, ferries and Access-a-Bus, as of 1 p.m. Saturday in advance of an expected freeze.

A rainfall warning is in effect for Halifax, calling for heavy rain overnight into Saturday. Temperatures are then forecast to plummet on Saturday afternoon and Environment Canada says roads, sidewalks and other surfaces could quickly freeze.

Halifax Transit said it would provide an update by 10 a.m. Saturday if there is any change to the timeline for suspension of services.
