Attempted murder charges laid in relation to weekend alert in Millbrook

By Mark Hodgins

Two Millbrook men are facing charges of attempted murder after a shooting that prompted an emergency alert for the community over the weekend.

The RCMP said on Saturday afternoon, two suspects went to a home on Gerald Ave. in Millbrook and fired a shot while allegedly assaulting a man inside. The victim was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot, according to the Mounties.

Police said the two men then went to another nearby home and pointed a firearm at two people while assaulting a 23-year-old man.

One of the suspects was found at a home on Willow St. and allegedly assaulted an officer during the arrest. A loaded shotgun was found in the home, police said.

Nearly two hours later officers found the second suspected at a home on Martin Cr. and found an unloaded shotgun.

Tristan William Standing-Ready-Gloade, 20, and Jeremy Lukas Paul, 26, both from Millbrook, are facing a number of charges including attempted murder and weapons offences. Both men were in court Monday.
