18 year old fighting for his life after a shooting in North Preston

RCMP were called to a residence on Downey Rd around 4:20 Wednesday afternoon after a report of shots fired in the area.
Arriving officers found an 18-year-old man outside of the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed from the scene to hospital by EHS for treatment of what police have described as life-threatening injuries.
Investigators found several shell casings in the immediate area but have not received any reports of anyone else being hurt in the incident.
Investigators do not believe this was a random act, and the investigation is ongoing with a police presence still at the scene.
