Halifax police charge three people following hit and run incidents

Three people are facing charges after two hit and run incidents in HRM over the weekend.

Police said on Saturday at roughly 1:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck gravestones in a cemetery on Victoria Road in Dartmouth. The plate from the suspect vehicle had been reported as stolen.

According to HRP, they attempted to stop the vehicle a short time later near Richmond Street in Halifax but the driver refused to stop and out of concern for public safety, police did not continue their pursuit.

Then roughly an hour later, police said they found the vehicle abandoned on North Park Street where the suspects at struck a parked vehicle before fleeing on foot but officers eventually tracked down and arrested three suspects in the area without further incident.

Carvery was also arrested in relation to an outstanding warrant for his arrest for theft of a motor vehicle and trespass by night.

A 15-year-old youth was also charged and released with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
