Crash in Cumberland County claims one life and injures man from Dartmouth

A 38-year-old man from Tatamagouche is dead after a crash in Cumberland County.

On Thursday, just after 10 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 4 in Wentworth.

Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers learned that a Pontiac Vibe and a tractor trailer were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The driver and sole occupant of the Pontiac was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the tractor trailer, a 61-year-old Dartmouth man, suffered minor injuries.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
