Mooseheads fall 5-2 to the Saint John Sea Dogs

It was a tough night for the Halifax Mooseheads.

The Herd started their road trip on Friday night with the first of two games in Saint John and it didn’t go as well as they had hoped.

It was especially rough in the first period when Tyler Peddle of the Sea Dogs scored the first goal only 30 seconds into the game followed by another goal by Sea Dogs Eriks Mateiko only ten seconds later. Former Moosehead player Brody Fournier scored the third goal and Tyler Peddle brought the score up to four later in the period.

Liam Kilfoil was able put the Herd on the board in the second period with a power play goal with an assist by Owen Phillips, and Markus Vidicek scored the Mooseheads second goal in the same period, his 43rd of the season.

Drew Elliott of the Sea Dogs scored the fifth and final goal late in the third period.

The two teams will rematch on Saturday night to wrap up the season and the puck drop is at 4PM.
