RCMP arrest and charge 24-year-old with attempted murder in Aulds Cove shooting

Antigonish Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have charged a man after a shooting in Aulds Cove, N.S. left a man injured.
The RCMP says on April 3 at around 5:50 a.m., Mounties responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Highway 4. Police say upon arrival on scene, officers found a 37-year-old Askilton, N.S. man outside of the home with gunshot injuries.
Emergency crews brought the man to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say on April 4, they arrested and charged 24-year-old Samuel Taylor from Port Hastings, N.S. with:
- Attempt to commit murder;
- Aggravated assault;
- Careless use of firearm;
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
- Pointing a firearm;
- Unauthorized possession of firearm;
- Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
Taylor appeared in Antigonish Provincial Court on Friday and was remanded in custody.
Police say he will return to court on April 9.
