Boil water advisory in effect for Middle Musquodoboit

Halifax Water warns that water in Middle Musquodoboit, N.S. could be unsafe to drink and that there’s a boil water advisory in effect.

In a news release on Saturday, the municipal water service says that impacted customers should boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, preparing infant formula, making ice cubes or juice, washing fruits or vegetables, cooking, brushing teeth or “any other activity requiring human consumption”.

This boil water order is precautionary and based on the loss of water resulting from a water main break near 19 Higginsville Road in Middle Musquodoboit,” wrote Halifax Water in a media release.

They say the advisory is in place “until further notice”.

Halifax Water says they’re monitoring the water quality and working in close consultation with Nova Scotia Environment and the Medical Officer of Health.

Middle Musquodoboit is 73 km northeast of Halifax.
