RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment arrested a woman involved in a collision with a cyclist in Lower Sackville.

On April 21 at about 4:00 p.m., the Mounties, fire and EHS responded to a crash on Cobequid Road. Officers learned that a Pontiac Vibe was travelling south when it left the roadway and struck a cyclist on the sidewalk.

A 68-year-old man from Lower Sackville suffered, what the RCMP describes as, “serious injuries.”

The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Head of Chezzetcook did not suffer injuries but was “exhibiting signs of impairment and provided breath samples.”

“She was safely arrested at the scene and transported to the Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples that registered 170mg per cent and 180mg per cent,” the press release from the RCMP reads.

The suspect was later released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on June 10 to face charges of Operation of a Conveyance 80mg per cent of over and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm.
