Two youths charged following assault in Lower Sackville

Two youths have been charged following an assault with a weapon in Lower Sackville.
On Monday afternoon, Mounties responded to an incident at a park on Metropolitan Avenue where a youth was allegedly approached by two young males who threatened the victim with a knife and then assaulted them with a sensory irritant.
Police said they arrested the suspects a short time later and seized a knife and a canister of sensory irritant.
They have been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Mounties said one of the two youths was additionally charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.
Both youths were held in custody and were scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court on Tuesday.
