Halifax restaurant named one of the best in Canada

Halifax is home to one of the best restaurants in the country, according to a new list.
Canada’s 100 Best, a national food magazine, released its latest look at the best places to eat nationwide.
The list for 2024 places Bar Kismet on Agricola St. at number nine. Last year the restaurant was number 12.
Bar Kismet is refined, relaxed and a little bit retro,” the list reads. “Dark wood and white beadboard, milk-glass light fixtures, mix-and-match china and potted plants – all contribute to a room of inviting comfort, falling somewhere between your grandmother’s dining room and a French farmhouse inn.”
Another list looking at the 50 best bars in the country also featured some local flavours.
Dartmouth’s Dear Friend Bar was ranked number seven. The Narrows Public House and Stillwell Beer Bar, both in Halifax, placed 14th and 48th respectively.
