Halifax Regional Police say teams continue looking for a missing person in the city’s south end.

According to an update sent Thursday morning, crews were still looking for Steve Corkum, who was reported missing from a Halifax hospital.

On Wednesday night, Police and Halifax Search and Rescue personnel searched an area around Dalhousie University, and on Thursday, that search concentrated on the Point Pleasant Park area. Searchers will be in the area on foot, bicycles, and vehicles and will use aerial drones to search the area.

Police are asking the public to remain away from the area to allow for the search to be conducted.

Corkum is described as white, 5’9″ tall and 190 lbs with thinning dark hair and dark brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing black stretchy pyjama pants, a dark grey pullover with a hood, and a dark grey golf shirt.

According to a release from Nova Scotia Health, Corkum requires medication on a set schedule, and the risk to himself increases with the length of time he is away from treatment.

Police request that anyone with information on Corkum’s whereabouts call Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020 or their local law enforcement agency.
