Teens charged in the murder of a Halifax 16-year-old plead not guilty

Four teenagers charged in the stabbing death of a Halifax high school student have pleaded not guilty on Friday.

Lawyers for the four accused appeared in Nova Scotia’s youth justice court to confirm that the trial for all four will begin on September 23rd.

Two 16-year-olds and two 14-year-olds have been charged in the death of 16-year-old Ahmad Maher Al Marrach.

The four are facing second-degree murder charges for the April 22 killing.

Al Marrach was found badly injured last month in a parking garage next to the Halifax Shopping Centre. He later died in hospital from his injuries.

A pre-trial hearing for the four youths is scheduled for mid-June.
