Teachers to vote on tentative agreement with province on Wednesday

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Teachers in Nova Scotia are voting on that tentative contract agreement reached with the province on Wednesday.

The deal was reached late last month, not long after teachers voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike mandate.

No details of the contract will be released until it is ratified by teachers, but the province says it addresses teacher concerns and increases support for students.

The teachers union says voting on the deal will continue until 8 p.m., and the results are expected shortly after voting closes.
