Clayton Park apartment building damaged by fire

No injuries were reported after a residential fire in Clayton Park Tuesday afternoon.

Halifax Fire was called to the scene in the 0-100 block of Willowbend Court just after 4 p.m. to find smoke inside the building and wafting from the eaves of the 4-unit building.

HRFE Deputy Chief Dave Meldrum told CityNews that firefighters quickly found and contained the fire in one apartment. No other buildings were damaged in the incident.

Some people living inside the building could not return to their homes yesterday, and the cause remains under investigation.
