New health clinic for veterans and RCMP opens in Bedford

By CityNews Halifax Staff

A new healthcare clinic in Bedford is now open as it looks to serve military veterans and RCMP members.

In a release, Echelon Wellness said it is designed to be a one-stop solution to care for the veteran and RCMP community, as they have unique healthcare and administrative challenges. The clinic will offer a range of services including physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage and counselling.

According to Echelon Wellness, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) has the highest population of veterans, RCMP and active service personnel in Canada.

“Echelon Wellness is designed to address their conditions, resulting from their service and professional experiences,” Igor Gimelshtein, CEO of Echelon Wellness, said in a press release. “HRM was a natural choice as our first location.”

Echelon said Bedford is the first in a series of locations, with St. John’s, Newfoundland scheduled next to open in the coming months.
