By CityNews Halifax Staff

Residents living near the Bedford Rifle Range may see an unusual number of objects flying above their neighbourhood this week.

According to the Department of National Defence, the military is conducting drone training today through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the Bedford Rifle Range.

People may see several drones flying between 200 and 300 feet above ground as the military conducts its training for members of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN).

In a release, DND say that the training is to help familiarize RCN personnel with drones that “will eventually be deployed aboard RCN vessels”.
