Haligonians are getting ready for the warmest stretch of the year so far.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning for all of Nova Scotia on Tuesday afternoon, calling for temperatures ranging from 29 to 33 C on Wednesday and 29 to 34 C on Thursday.
“These very warm conditions could possibly continue into Friday,” the warning reads. “Nighttime lows are forecast to remain fairly warm, limiting overnight cooling. Some relief may be found in communities located very close to the water.”
Further inland, the humidex is expected to make it feel closer to 40 over the next two days, according to the national forecaster.
The warning says people should drink lots of water and watch for early signs of heat illness, including feeling unwell, fatigue, headache and thirst.
